All the time spent collecting, washing and grading thousands of eggs before they even get to the incubator has started to pay off. The first batch of chicks has arrived.
For the next few weeks, every Tuesday, a few thousand one day old chicks are put into the rearing houses under the heat lamps. These day olds will grow rapidly with a healthy appetite until they are released into the park from the second/third week in June onwards.
Now starts the busiest few months of the year for the team and volunteers at Ugbrooke Park.
